1. Are You Willing to Step Into New Territory with God?
Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before.” (Joshua 3:4 NIV)
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NIV)
Reflection:
God often leads us into unfamiliar places—new seasons, new challenges, and new opportunities. Are you satisfied with where you are spiritually, or is God calling you to take a bold step forward? Where do you sense God asking you to trust Him for something new?
Question:
What “new territory” is before you right now, and how can you step forward with boldness, trusting that God is with you?
2. Are Your Eyes Fixed on Jesus in the Journey?
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:2 NIV)
"When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God…you are to move out from your positions and follow it.” (Joshua 3:3 NIV)
Reflection:
The Israelites were told to follow the Ark, God’s presence, not to run ahead or lag behind. In our journey, it’s easy to focus on circumstances or other people, but only Jesus will never fail us.
Question:
Where are your eyes fixed right now—in your struggles, your desires, or on Jesus? How can you be more intentional about following His lead today?
3. Will You Step Out in Faith—Even Before You See the Miracle?
“And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.” (Joshua 3:13 NIV)
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV)
Reflection:
The priests had to step into the flooded river before God parted the waters. Sometimes, God asks us to move before we see the outcome. Faith means moving forward even when it feels risky.
Question:
What is your “Jordan River” right now? What step of faith is God asking you to take, even if you can’t see the results yet?
After crossing, the Israelites built a memorial so future generations would remember God’s faithfulness (Joshua 4:21-24). Take time to remember and share what God has done in your life—pass on the story of His faithfulness!
